jesus 700 bucks a month?! And that’s only for the Altima, rogue, Pathfinder and Frontier?!

900 a month to drive the leaf, Maxima, Murano, Armada, titan and Z?!

AN EXTRA 100 ON TOP OF THE 900 FOR THE GTR?!

my god if you want to make payments forever just lease something, this subscription stuff is mental.

Yes, but do they pay me to drive the Versa?

How many Versa’s can one destroy under this plan?

I can see a bit of a benefit to this... depends on length of term tho

Say you want to buy.... altima... you test drive it... you like it... you buy it... you drive it some more and find out something that really bugs you.

here - you can drive altima for say a week, then maxima. then whatever else you were thinking of.

Finally find something you like and call it quits. Then buy what you like.

I was never a fan of a 3 minute test drive. Yes. New car is new. I learn nothing on my test drive.

I want to know if I can throw a sheet of plywood in the back of an SUV or if I can fit all my friends on my regular adventure trip.

This is pretty cool... but I would hate to be in this shindig for 3 years or something.

True story, I took my allroad in for a couple of recalls, and my Audi dealer sent me to an Enterprise rent a car, where I was handed the keys to a dirty Versa with a loud metallic rattle coming from the trunk. Pretty much the most miserable car ever.

I tore into Enterprise for the condition of the car, and I tore into my Audi dealer for sending me to enterprise and paying minimum dollar for a loaner for a long time customer - especially after I found out they had loaners at the dealership.

Next time I took my car in for service they put me in a brand new Q7 Prestige. Which I ended up driving for a week.

So let me get this straight, for the price of leasing a Mercedes E-Class, I can have the luxury of swapping between an Altima and a Sentra as often as I’d l ike? Sign me the fuck up.

I think a generic car dealership (with various vehicles on the lot) should offer something like this.

Try Camry for a week. Now try Suburban...

Depending on how much money you were willing to spend, it would put you in different tiers.

Fucking brilliant.

apparently there is no long term. And I get it includes insurance, maintenance and roadside assistance. I can just think of better ways to spend 700 a month.

Example: in the last year we bought an 08 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (which only had 15k miles when we bought it, almost 30k now) and an 09 GMC Yukon. Their combined payments plus insurance is LESS than this one “rental/lease” nissan.

TBH this isn’t too absurd to me.

Insurance in Michigan is crazy and this way I could swap between a sports car for fun and a truck for home projects. Still to much money and the wrong car company, but a  fun thought.

I’d rather spend the 1400 (assuming base program) and buy a beat up old jeep and fix it to wheel it as opposed to subscription on something i don’t own.

I’ve spent something like 20k keeping my Wrangler on the road. I’d like someone else to foot the maintenance bill once in a while.

Yeah, I probably would buy an XJ before doing this, but it would be fun to drive a brand-new Wrangler for a month or two.

I’d consider doing it for a month to drive a variety of cars, but I wouldn’t do it for Nissan’s lineup.

Kinja'd!!!0

Yes, but similarly, if you were to rent a car for a week, it would cost you about that...

Kinja'd!!!

Prices vary, but once you add insurance and whatever other crap, it will be on par... for a week vs a month.

I guess what I am saying is that 700 dollars a month is a lot of money, but a one time experience these vehicles for a month is a good way to get familiar without dropping big chunk after 3 minute test drive

If you send me $100 a month I promise to never force you to drive a Nissan. Compared to $700 a month and only driving Nissans that seems like an absolute bargain.

It’s not cheap, but there are some upsides:

You’ll never need to worry about paying for maintenance or repairs. You’ll never need to replace brakes or tires (or batteries on the leaf) . I bet there will even be people trying to game the system by swapping cars instead of filling the gas tank.

You’ll never need to pay to rent a truck, or pay for the gas of driving a truck when you don’t need it. Ditto for a CUV, SUV, or a sports car. Plus, you won’t have to pay sales tax or go to the DMV.

And $100 for a day of driving the GTR sounds like a decent deal compared to the $300 you can spend to drive one for only 3 laps on a short track.

I’m not saying I’d ever pay that much for this setup, but it does sound like a luxury to be able to swap cars often.

you make a fair point.

I think one of my problems is I can’t fathom the idea of wanting a nissan at this point so I’m gonna spend that 700 in other ways.

Kinja'd!!! MultiplaOrgasms > Saracen

Seems expensive.

Let me compare: $899 a month to drive one of the less shit Nissans, including insurance and maintenance, but presumably not including fuel . O ver eleven months it will cost me $ 9,889 to drive a Nissan Maxima, not including fuel. I spent exactly €2, 000 on my 1995 Maxima, including taxes and insurance for twelve months I spent €3,400 upfront. Over an eleven month period I spent maybe €350 on maintenance and repairs, co vering a distance of 20,000km (60 0km average per tank at € 80 per fill up ) means I spent roughly €2, 7 00 on fuel, about € 6, 500 total over an eleven month period.

Tl;dr It’d be much cheaper for me to buy a clean, low mileage 90s Maxima and run that for a year than it is to drive a new one via the subscription program.

Diff rebuild twice, transmission rebuild 1.5 times (don’t ask), fuel injection problems, bought a PCM I didn’t need and can’t return ( really don’t ask), every front-end component has been replaced at least once, electrical problems,  ....

Been painful, to say the least.

you also make a fair point

Nissan in its current form is not all that good. Maybe new CEO will ruffle some feathers. Throw some manuals our way... Can you imagine GTR manual? I would! I don’t even care if automatic is faster.

At this point I don’t want faster. I want funner. I can go get a hellcat or demon for fraction of a cost of a fancy sports car like P orsche or F errari and still go faster.

I am going off on a tangent here. Nissan no! Random car dealer that lets me do this same thing with various manufacturers... YES!

What Gen and motor did it have?

hoping our JKU Rubicon lasts a loooong time. Helps that it only has about 30k miles on it and is probably going to get it’s 2nd set of tires in it’s life soon. (Probably bumping up to 35's, I don’t plan on lifting though. Maybe a leveling kit for a tiny bit in the front)
